Profile, employers and figures are fictional: borrow the structure, not the content.
Why this CV works
- The title names the job aimed for: "Supermarket Cashier", not just "Assistant".
- Accuracy is proved by a figure (till differences), not by an adjective.
- The progression shows: from shelf stacking to the till, then to training colleagues.
- One page, readable at a glance: a recruiter finds everything in ten seconds.
What you can quantify on the tills
- The number of customers or transactions per day, or at peak times.
- Till differences, or the absence of any over a period.
- The number of tills or stations you cover (staffed, self-checkout, customer service desk).
- The number of people you have trained, or how long you have been with the store.
No exact figure? An honest order of magnitude ("around 150 customers") beats an invented precision.
Keywords often found in job ads
Till operation, cash handling, cash-up, customer service, self-checkout, speed, accuracy, flexibility, replenishment, handling complaints. Reuse those from the advert that match you.
Common mistakes
- Writing only "operated the till" with nothing that shows accuracy or volume handled.
- Forgetting shifts and flexibility if you have them: recruiters look for them.
- Qualities with no proof ("friendly, motivated"): show them through a fact.
